Labor Day Weekend 2019

We stopped by two of NYC's trending events this Labor Day weekend with our event blogger Kali B. Let's see her take on the experience!

New York will forever be one of the top places to visit for Labor Day weekend. You can find multiple flexes that offer a chance to reup on your winter potentials, and at the same time possibly land your next job opportunity! Some of the perfect send off events to close out the New York Summer included The Link Up at Blue Midtown, Cups & Convos Game Night, Caribbean Fetes such as SANDZ and Twerk and Jerk, 1 Life 2 Live Anniversary, and of course the Brooklyn Labor Day parade. Weather didn’t stop many from shaking their Panini and Slow Whining on all waste lines including the police! Got to love New York summers!

Weekend Spotlight:

Friday -The Link Up at The Blue Midtown was a total after work vibe! Offering drink specials from 5-7. You were hit with some of everything musically bringing an undeniable vibe. It was also a successful black networking event. Age range for women 22+ and men 26+. Dress code was chill, but the normal no “urban” gear(Hoodies, Hats, Sweat Pants). Average drink price after the special was $14-$17.

Sunday - 1Life2Live Entertainment's 8 year anniversary, Labor Day Soiree at PHD Rooftop was one of` the top events of the summer! The event was from 3-11, and the DJs did not disappoint. Each of the rooms and terraces at PHD Rooftop was filled with a variety of Black creatives & professionals. This party could have been dubbed the summit of Black excellence! Word of advice for next year be in line by 7pm. We all know how NYC's major nightlife venues love to put a cap (bottle service only; bar tab minimum) on “urban” events.
